Seiko Goldfeather 605010

$690.00

Seiko Goldfeather 605010 – Rare

The Goldfeather was made at a time when movements were assembled and regulated by hand and still labelled under Seiko’s old name, “Seikosha.” The assembly of the caliber 60M was especially challenging for the brand given the thinness of the movement at 2.95mm.

The rectangular case remains a mystery. It was produced only in August 1964. The plausible reason for this may have been as a ‘giveaway’ to VIPs, athletes, and others in anticipation of the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo later that year.

This watch has gold indices at 5 and 7 o’clock, and we know from the back side of the dial that this was original from the factory. We have never seen this before, and the watch may be a prototype.

This watch was produced in August 1964, giving it 61 years in service and still in fantastic condition.

  • Dial: The striped pattern dial is in particularly good condition without any scratches.

  • Hands: Have some minor marks.

  • Crystal: Polished, with signs (in special light) of aging/UV damage in the lower left corner.

  • Case: In particularly good condition without any major scratches or marks. There are hairlines and minor marks from long-term service. Only cleaned.

This high-end movement has been stripped down, cleaned, and serviced so you can enjoy the watch for years to come without thinking of maintenance.

All functions have been tested and are working.
